SES Warns of strong winds to hit Sydney & NSW
         



Photo Credit: NSW SESThe SES & Bureau of Meteorology are warning NSW residents of a severe wind warning.Strong winds are expected to lash across the Illawarra, Southern tablelands, Hunter, ACT, South Coast, Central Tablelands, Snowy Mountains and Metropolitan districts.Strong winds are expected to develop from Tuesday through the night into Wednesday and then into the southern part of NSW on Thursday.  It is not expected for any significant rainfall to occur, however winds up to 110km/h are expected in some areas.The SES are advising that children and pets are to be taken inside during this prolonged weather event.The SES further advises that:• Move vehicles under cover or away from trees• Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony• Keep clear of fallen power lines• Stay indoors away from windows and keep children indoors• Do not shelter under treesThe SES is available to assist residents with certain types of property damage. They can be contacted by calling 132-500If there is a risk of life or injury due to fallen trees, power lines, or other debris that could become airborne, it is recommended to contact the appropriate emergency service by calling 000.
