Sender: aussie-weather-approval at world.std.com Reply-To: aussie-weather at world.std.com Blackheath: Saturday 8:30am G'day all, Point one: OFFTOPIC: I think the idea of prefacing messages as per below has merit but what about the suggestion a few weeks/months ago that we try and put two or three points in the same email rather than send separate emails to keep email numbers down? If each of us had two or three points on different issues to make, and indeed used a separate email for each one, that would be a lot of emails. Point two: WEATHER: 4.5mm overnight in Blackheath, currently cool to mild with light easterly wind. Point three: FORECAST: Bom's forecast charts. The fetch on that high for later in the week looks interesting again. Could see some snow our way again. Anyone got any more thoughts? Point four: Pileus cloud Spoke to my father-in-law re Pileus. He's a retired plant scientist and uses the word Pileus to describe mushroom caps and pronounces it differently to all of us! He said it depends on what latin school you come from, re the pronunciation. He is looking into it further for us. Now, imagine if I used four separate emails with different headers to say all that! :-) Cheers, Lindsay Pearce MSC - Jane ONeill wrote: > > Afternoon from sunny, blue skied Melbourne, > > Firstly, could we start including our location like we did last > season...Glen O'Riley, where do you hail from??????? > > As the list grows to more than 200, is there a better way of heading > emails? The jet core appears to run along the impressive upper cloud band associated with the approaching (weakening cold front) trough in the Bight and can be traced well to the northwest of Australia. The jet core then dives northward across the top of the QLD cloud system then flies eastward to a cloud mass east of N.Z. Despite the weakening of the cold front over the Bight the jet has strengthened across south east Aus: and possibly reaches a max south west of Mt Gambier. regards Clyve H ----- Original Message ----- From: MSC - Jane ONeill To: Aussie-wx Sent: Sunday, August 06, 2000 8:37 PM Subject: aus-wx: FORECAST: water vapour image > Evening all, > > Can someone please enlighten me about something on the current water > vapour image of eastern Australia that can be found at > http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/tropic/real-time/shemi/images/xxwvgms5e.GIF > > There seems to be a flow at higher levels from W Victoria up through NSW > to southern Queensland.
