Hi all,

Finally got around to uploading some of the archives, there's GMS, JCU, MSLA and radar at the following URL's:

I think (don't quote me), Ben and/or Jane will make these in a more presentable form eventually...so if you only want to have a look, maybe wait until they unpack the data and look at it in a more presentable form.  If you're interested in keeping the data on your computer for archive puproses, then it'll be easier for you to download the zips here!

Still need to get around to doing the FNL data...

However, I think the scenario for tomorrow for the Central Tablelands will be for the front to move through soon after daybreak, dropping the temperature a few degrees, then for a progressive cooling as the colder air arrives during the rest of the day. Hence 3 to 8 is likely, but in the order 8 to 3! Most of the models continue to have the coldest air over the Central Tablelands during Thursday night/early Friday morning, moving it north up the tablelands during Friday. There's a small circulation visible on animated satpix in western Bass Strait -- it seems to have started late morning and has moved slowly east to ENE to be NW of King Island at 06z. The current Melbourne broad radar loop seems to confirm this, with stationary showers south of Warrnambool but other showers circulating -- including a nice multicoloured band just about to hit Melbourne. Most of the models develop a low somewhere east of Bass Strait or the NSW South Coast by tomorrow, but they vary considerably in where the cold pool is going, ranging from NE in a line from ~Adelaide to ~Armidale (EC and US) to E through the Strait or Victoria (GASP, LAPS). So, where the low develops and how it tracks will be worth watching. If it tracks across NSW it would definitely enhance snowfall; likewise a low east of Sydney or the Illawarra coast would also bring good falls if it develops fast enough to produce precip while the cold air is still over us. Sender: aussie-weather-approval at world.std.com Reply-To: aussie-weather at world.std.com I agree with this, Laurier - the minimum forecast is for tonight - not really tomorrow. That means that the front will go through and drop the temp to 3, then in the early morning it might get to 8 and then it will steadily fall after the usual relative calm in the few hours after the front. Sydney's max is 15 but I think this will be at 9AM odd afterwhich it will be a very interesting day... Andrew. The weather bureau says light north easterly winds yesterday, coupled with low level moisture and a small high, provided ideal conditions to produce the fog.
