I am pretty sure that these cells formed about 100km off the south coast of
NSW last night, I saw several cells and a friend with a better south aspect
said the lightning at 2am over the ocean was spectacular.

They get a good deal of snow up there. It's around 1400 metres alt. so
if we get snow here that is pretty good, it must be good there. I've
camped there in October (under young man cannobolas - slighly lower) and
it was gorgeous, best sunrise I've ever seen. I've seen pics of Mt
Cannob. totally covered in snow, like a European scene. Ask our man in
Orange, Terry Bishop, he'd know more than me.

G'day all,

My service provider from Lithgow (one of the guys that runs it actually)
has an interest in local weather. I told him I'd forward his email on to
everyone here to get a better answer than I could give. Is that okay?

Cheers,

Lindsay

Hi All

Noticed some of my details missing from the list, here they are

Ph. (03) 9830 8230
ICQ - 19704370

What does everyone think this front moving through Vic will do this evening?

The BOM think there could be a bit of rain with it, and the tt's for
northern Vic are going off 55-60, and the LI's are 0 to -3 this afternoon.

I'm heading up to Kerang, northern Vic, and would like to know of it's storm
prospects.

just crashed. Hopefully others are around to provide information for you.

Hi all, good news to all those Brisbanites out there (including me!)

The BoM are having a free trial run of some farmer forecasting
models/precip and.....get ready for - radar!!! I'm not sure how long it
lasts, but all you can access is the 512km broad radar for Brisbane, but
it's certainly better then nothing. If you want to subscribe to it
permanently, it's $200 a year...I haven't seen much of it, but so far
it's actually quite tempting.

at least the storm drought is over. And the rain drought too. It's been

Saw some big clouds north, and some bigs ones south, but again,
nothing near us. After dark there was no light show, so they may
have been all duds.

Hi all,

A *HUGE* thanks to Jane who so kindly rang us three times to keep us
informed, I hope your phone bill won't be too big! Unfortunately, we
had 'half a bust' - meaning, we saw thunderstorms, but only from a
distance. Actually, at just after 2pm we were at a lookout at the Gold
Coast, and things were looking *very* good...with 5 'avilling' cells to
our S and SW. However, as we got closer, they died off, one by
one...which was very frustrating. Even more frustrating was the
Congestus/TCU line that sat over the border ranges...I've never seen
such strong TCU (shooting to 20-25,000 at times) do nothing...

You can't win them all though,

Also, thanks to Hayden from Evans Point, who also gave us some
information, and also offered us a place to stay for the night if we
needed it...it's certainly very encouraging and pleasing to see people
wanting to help out with storm chases.

Bust chaser, Anthony Cornelius
