The Coriolis Effect
« on: 30 April 2007, 04:21:06 PM »
Heres a little teaser for a post ill be writing up shortly for your viewing pleasure(considering all's quiet on the australian front).

This will hopefully be the first of a few ill write during the winter to provide some additional meteorological background for those who are interested.

Have you ever wondered why the water swirls down the drain a particular direction? Or maybe why that supercell you saw the other day was rotating anti-clockwise? Maybe youre wondering why low pressure systems are rotating clockwise in the southern hemisphere. The answer lies within an important meteorological concept known as the coriolis effect. Keep an eye on this thread to find out more.
