Fatal accident in Woronora – Police plead for all to slow down

</strong></span><span>With the Christmas and holiday season just around the corner, the first fatal accident during the road safety campaign has occurred.</span></p><p><span>Around 6.45pm it is believed a Black Ford ute travelling at high speed going westbound on the River Road clipped another car. This car collided with a </span><span>Ford Focus which killed the driver.</span></p><p><span>The passenger of the Hatchback was trapped for a short time. </span><span>All surviving occupants were taken to St George Hospital.</span></p><p><span>The NSW Metropolitan Police Crash Unit is requesting for any witnesses to come forward. They can be contacted on 02-9689-7370.</span></p><p><span>All drivers are advised to use extra caution over the holiday break. Double Demerits will be in force once again.</span></p><p><span>Operation Safe Arrival commenced on the 19th December with double demerit points in effect from midnight next Tuesday 23rd December and concluding at 23.59hrs on Sunday 4th January 2009 for all speeding and seatbelt offences.</span></p><span>
