Title: Possible snow Central Tablelands Friday 18th July 2008 to 21st July 2008
Post by: Jimmy Deguara on 18 July 2008, 03:39:43 AM
Hi,

There is a hint for snow on the higher peaks of Central Tablelands from Friday through to Monday 21st July 2008. It is a marginal setup but any waves of cold air could do it. We'll see how it progresses. There is some light precipitation

lol yeh looks exciting for the CT's... widespread below freezing temperatures no doubt, though precipitation could be hard to come by...

Just wondering though..... I'm currently recording a temperature of 3.4 degrees here in North Turramurra, Sydney's northern suburbs. There's some showers off the coast, and the forecast for tonight is 'a shower or two'. If precipitation fell at my current temperature, or maybe later on in the night when I'm around 1 or 0 degrees, snow or at least sleet would fall!

Last time it snowed in Sydney was in 1864.... disagreement amongst many as to whether it happened in the 1980's or not....

Rug up!

Often when it does get this cold it is due to clear nights. Once the cloud moves over, the temperature rises - bear that in mind.
