I don't know if anyone has noticed but a decent cell has formed and many smaller ones towards the northern parts of Northern Rivers region. Here is a radar image for 9:00pm 12may

Just an update on the storm cells. There is now constant lightning to the south and southwest as you can see there are multiple cells. I'm in Ballina and hoping that the large cell near Grafton region will just scrape our area like they normally do.

I observed some dull lightning when driving into Lismore aboout 6pm on the way to see the Star Trek movie. Was surprised to see the activity as had not really checking conditions.

On the way home we could see some lightning in the cloud tops off to the SE - when the main storm was near Yamba.

GFS does have some -1 LIs over parts of NE NSW.

A small thunderstorm developed on the border ranges about an hour ago (noon 13th May) and is crossing the southern Gold Coast at present. Sounding shows some reasonable instability about. Tomorrow looks even better north of Brisbane.
