Title: Storms near Broome WA - 24th November 2006
Post by: Jimmy Deguara on 25 November 2006, 03:39:07 PM
Hi,

Paul Graham once again alerted me to a nice squall line near Broome this evening. The soundings are quite impressive with a surface lifted index of -15C. The squall line was moving west to east but developed rapidly into a line - I suspect another mesoscale convective system MCS in the making.

This is just a gut feeling and not based on any science or maps, but I was thinking that the storms which have fired over the Kimberley in the last week may go back to our strong cold front last week. It appears that the entire eastern half of Australia was emptied of moisture and the lot pooled over the NW.
