June 17, 2009: Taking another look at the Aurora, NE Supercell

As many of you know, Dick McGowan and Darin Brunin of http://www.tornadolive.com were among those who chased the extraordinary Grand Island-Aurora, NE supercell on June 17 of this year. Dick recently put together a time lapse of their chase, providing a unique perspective on what it's like to hunt down and stay with a tornadic supercell! You'll notice the TVN SRV "Dominator" at several points during the video as well! (Dick and Darin were right behind the Dominator during the Aurora intercept, capturing incredible footage of TVN in action!)

AMAZING time lapse of the June 17, 2009 tornadoes!

I think this timelapse is not only very impressive but also shows the primary method by which a chaser should be trying to stay safe with regards to positioning relative to the wall cloud and tornadic event. Definitely far more safe and professional than say the Reed Timmer Method, while still getting amazing footage.

Storm chasing is dangerous. Do not storm chase unless you have consulted or chased with others who have proven extensive chase experience.
