Sunset and lightning NE Colorado 11 June 2006   on: 12 June 2006, 07:05:39 PM

Given the constraints of being in Dallas tomorrow evening, I made the decision of not crossing the border. So ours was a bust given I thought supercells would develop and move into moisture in NE Colorado. However, there were some pretty impressive scenes that entertained my friends and I. Here are some of the photographs from this afternoon and evening.

Hi Dave,

The only disappointment on this day is that there was the potential for well structured severe supercells on this day - just too many storms erupted and formed a line event. As I suggested above also - we were restricted to the border - it would have been far more difficult to make it back to Oklahoma City from there and then Dallas where we were destined to leave.

Otherwise, the lightning with sunset made for a peaceful setting.

Storm chasing is dangerous. Do not storm chase unless you have consulted or chased with others who have proven extensive chase experience.
