SA cold-air tornado 14th July 2010
« on: 18 July 2010, 02:40:35 PM »
Only just heard about this event, from a Ch 10 employee here in Adelaide, who received mobile phone footage of the tornado from a Two Wells resident. Path was mainly through farmland although one house had its roof removed and trees decimated. Two Wells is a market garden township just outside the main Adelaide metro area near the Buckland Park radar site.
Here is the footage:

Will post up any further details when I get them.
I'd particularly like to know the time to check radar.

Some more info:

the house that was damaged was located on the corner of Mallala & Germantown roads

It was at approx 9.50am

You can see the suspect storm cell going through the location at 00.20 GMT

Thanks Tim. It's worth looking at the doppler images too as a circulation can be seen at the same time.

Have also attached the Adelaide sounding which is very representative of conditions at the time.

regards, Michael
