Severe weather outbreak continues today!

Strong tornadoes, damaging hail and torrential rain are all possible over the  next 48 hrs as the year's first widespread severe weather outbreak begins to  unfold today, from the lower Missouri River valley to the Gulf Coast. The Storm  Prediction Center has issued a Moderate Risk as of the latest Day-1 outlook,  including a 15% hatched area for tornadoes over the state of Arkansas, northern  Louisiana and eastern Texas. Tornado watches have already been issued for parts  of Nebraska and for most of today's Moderate Risk area. Also, it appears more  and more likely that tomorrow will see the year's first High Risk, where a  significant severe weather outbreak is expected over the Tennessee and lower  Mississippi River valleys. Residents of these areas should definitely take the  time to prepare for extreme weather today and tomorrow, including making sure  weather radios contain fresh batteries. A number of chasers will be streaming  live today and tomorrow; storm chaser and spotter reports can make a HUGE  difference at times like this, especially in the mid-south, where visibility can  be much reduced due to terrain and radar beams are stretched to their limits.
