Beautiful supercell and rotating wall cloud in Mar del Plata, Argentina

What was supposed to be a day at the beach on New Years in Mar del Plata, became one of the most photogenic supercell intercepts I've ever had, and we chased the storm on foot!  A textbook supercell exploded on the sea breeze front by late afternoon just west of Mar del Plata, and moved right over the city and out over the Atlantic Ocean, producing a very low and rapidly rotating wall cloud.  Occasional funnels were produced, but we couldn't confirm a circulation on the water surface.  This storm had a huge rain free base with rapidly rising scud as it moved over the city and adjacent beach, and people finally took cover when the heavy rain and small hail started falling.  We positing at the end of the pier, and even contemplated renting jet skis to chase this storm over water!  Enjoy the pictures!  January 3-5 still looks huge over the Pampas of Argentina, so stay tuned for updates.  Tomorrow we'll be heading toward Mendoza to get into position...
