Storms east of Junee NSW: 2 January 2008
« on: 04 January 2008, 05:01:11 PM »
Hey all, this is my first post so i hope i am doing it right and have attached my photos ok of these storms that occurred east of Junee on the 2nd of January this the New Year. They did a fair bit of damage unfortunalty around Batlow to apple crops etc. Anyway just thought you might like to have a look at how they appeared from my point of view, they had unreal cloud formations with the photos hardly doing them justice......great to be part of the site, Cheers and Regards, C501.[attachthumb=#]

Welcome to the forum.

What sort of damage did it cause? Strong winds, heavy rain or hail?

There was the usual heavy rain and strong gusty winds but it was the marble size hail that did all the damage, hundreds of thousands of dollars worth to the apple crops around Batlow, some crops had protective sheeting over them to protect them from summer storms but with the hail falling for at least half an hour and being the size that it was they didn't stand a chance........Cheers and Regards, C501.
