Topic: Multiple CG strikes within reach!

I have a question for those who have witnessed multiple branching CG strikes within a short space of seconds or minutes and what the sound of thunder was like.  I've only experienced single strike CGs personally. From viewing the photos on the forum, especially the ones from the USA, i'd like to know what the sound was like with these huge branching CGs smashing around you were like?

May seem like a silly question, but it's something that has been on my mind whilst looking at the photos.  Is there a difference in the cracking thunder with branching CGs as opposed to single strike 'booms'?

In answer to your question, I think the sound of thunder may vary depending on your position with respect to the lightning itself.

The multiple and high energy strobing bolts are in the form of canons! Unbelievable! I heard a few last year when chasing with Tim Marshall and he just laughed when I was still outside and he exclaimed "Canon!".

Staccato activity definitely has the crackling type of activity  downright awesome!
