Hi Antonio,

Once I felt that wind- outflow from the storm, I took of after the next storm. Outflow results from downdrafts from the storm.

O right so as the storm was approaching closer toward you the downdraft's start to be felt is that correct? still new to these things but am willing to learn all of them.

Also noticed more wind on your video here Supercell northwestern Sydney 27th October 2010 and i also love the hail :)

Antonio.

Spectacular lightning show! I lvoe the bolts coming out in front of the shelf cloud. I alos love the fact that for each edit for the bolt, the storm had progressed closer - I recall the storms were screaming along! How long were you in that spot Michael?

Great to see some different lightning behviour.

Correct Jimmy. This storm was very fast moving. It went from close bolts to barely audible thunder in about 15minutes.

Unfortunately I wasted some time looking for a good view(There were lots of trees in the area, and very tall grass on the sides of the road) . I eventually found a good enough view but valuable time was wasted and I missed several pulsating but distant bolts because of this. The one minute of footage you have seen, has been cut down from the 12minutes I was there(I was filming the whole time). Im spewing I didn't use a tripod for my video camera, it would've made the footage even better. The footage on youtube is blocky but you get the idea.

Cheers!

Sorry about the late reply but I was going through some images and found this folder with a few shots of the outer western Sydney storm cell on the 10th of November. I tracked north along the ranges from camden and from memory looked very sever on radar. I was working in Leura and couldn't get down in time for a proper chase. This was taken from Warimoo showing a nice hailshaft on the back of this cell just before it collapsed.
