Tornadoes possible today on the high Plains!

The main threat will be centered over the high Plains of northeast Colorado into western Kansas and Nebraska. (http://www.twisterdata.com)Forecast models (http://www.twisterdata.com) indicate that high-to-extreme instability will be overlapping an area of relatively high helicity, creating an environment favorable for isolated strong tornadoes and "gorilla hail" in extreme northeast Colorado this afternoon, with the risk gradually shifting east into the evening. The area along the I-76 corridor looks particularly interesting for intense thunderstorm development before 00z, especially when considering the anticipated super-slow east-northeast storm motion. This could be a fairly significant storm chasing event, and, as such, numerous chasers will be gathering in the region this afternoon -- among them the Omaha Twister Chasers team, who were on the Scottsbluff, NE monster supercell on June 7 streamed this AMAZING structure Live!!!!
