Hey guys i will be first person to post of this thread for season of 2009/10. Here wishes me good luck heading off to Townsville from 12th February which is 2 months next week!
Still no sign of significant rainfall event yet in nth Qld! El nino is in full blast.

Serious flooding in Townsville. Scored over 200mm of rain overnight with some parts over 250mm!

Very hot and insane humidity here at JCU! Lovely monsoonal showers around and appears to increase in rain areas. Currently its 30/26 and feels like 37 now!

So almost one month later!!!
I have been so busy with study and social lately so yea there isn't much to post at all. We had quite few heavy squally monsoonal showers for past weeks including yesterday evening. I actually got caught in it!!!
Today is windy and the humidity is kinda dropping off, some early signs of dryness.

Thanks to TC Ului to help the monsoonal trough back a litle to bring us 200mm+ falls tonight!!!

Finally the weather clearing up in Townsville! Its warming up above 30 degrees with beautiful blue sunny skies! Humidity still a bit around but less than what is like month ago!

Townsville weather is very confusing!!!! It rains one day and doesnt in next. Mins are still over 20 and days around 30 and its May!!!!

Finally the dry came here!! The SE surge came through around 10am this morning kicking humidity as low as 15% after 2pm with max temp of 32! Next few days will be same. Just beautiful skies!

Very dry today! Max of 28 with breezy winds.
As last day of Autumn tomorrow, forecasts going for cool and dry at 14-25!! That just cool as like back in Ballina! But during the week it warms back up to 16-28 anyways.

Lovely dovely warm days lately! Semester 1 ended today and going home on Saturday (cold go away!) and expected to go back on 21st July back into hot days and typical bikinis wonderland hehe!

Its warm days here in Ballina but now cold front coming in with some rain!!!
Going back to Townsville on Monday afternoon would be interesting. As forecasted between Gold Coast and Townsville.
Flight leaves at 2 30pm, temperature @ Goldy would be 21 degrees, then arriving in Townsville @ 4 30pm, temperature would be 27 degrees!!

Looks like some rain and that starting to early in Townsville already! No days below 24 degrees and lowest min was 13.4 degrees. It absolutely warm and tad wet dry season this year.
From today the humidity has kicked in to 60% with nice ESE to ENE winds. Next few days should be showery with mins of 20 and max of 28 degrees! Gotta love the tropics!

Had min of 22.1 this morning at Douglas! Drizzly rain with 25 degrees now!

That was very cool morning in Townsville! Min of 15.6C with max wind gusts of 56km/hr from the southwest. This cool spell isn't lasting more than two days. Heat and humidity coming back shortly!!! Gotta love the tropics haha.

Had very heavy rainfalls last week max of 75mm here at Douglas campus. Afterwards it was very cool.
Now its so hot and humid!!!!! Its the build up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 20C mins, high 20s max increasing to low 30s! Very high dewpoints!
