Title: Melbourne lightning - late 26th July 2007
Post by: Brad Hannon on 28 July 2007, 02:27:07 PM
Hi all, began taking shots at about 11.30pm last night.  Got a nice show on the back side of a line that move very slowly across Melbourne.  I was too lazy to get my cable shutter release so a couple could be sharper :)

Wow, great display of lightning there. It's been a long spell between lightning shots to date!

Very nice Brad - quite a display ! You must have been one of the few who took any photos that night as there are none on the other forum.

Here's a radar loop of the event:

So Melbourne beat us to the lightning show! Good stuff Brad.

Good high based storm type lightning with lightning crawling over the horizon! Is this the earliest you have captured lightning there - winter?

Hi guys, thanks for the loop Michael.  Yes Jimmy that is the earliest I have captured 'worthwhile' lightning.  We had some mild weather last week with some northerlies so it was hardly winter-like.  It was a very enjoyable but i dont hold my breath for another show any time soon :)
