This recent statement issued from BoM might raise a few eyebrows:-

Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology
South Australia Regional Office

TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING

for DAMAGING WIND

For people in the
Flinders,
Northeast Pastoral and parts of the
Northwest Pastoral districts.
Issued at 5:50 pm Saturday, 15 August 2009.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Marla, Coober Pedy, Roxby Downs and Leigh Creek.
A thunderstorm near Coober Pedy produced a wind gust to 93 km/h at 3 pm.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
The next warning is due to be issued by 8:50 pm.
(Coutesy: BoM)

I think the windy conditions will reach VIC very soon, if they haven't already started to arrive.

And thunder is forecast in Melbourne tomorrow - so I might get some pics to share by Monday.

It looks like Big Pete that you are in for gale force winds very shortly, WZ news stated  In Victoria, winds have been gusting up to 67 km per hour in Kilmore, 64 km per hour in St. Kilda, 78 km per hour in Essendon, 81 Km per hour in Tullamarine and 72 km per hour in Coolac.

Northerly winds are supposed to strengthen across the southeast later on today and tomorrow as a cold front from the west approaches. This front will front hit western Victoria tonight and then sweep across the southeast tomorrow. Winds will reach gale force ahead of the front with a cooler, gusty westerly change following. They have predicted the wind gusts to peak over 100 km per hour throughout Victoria tomorrow with a severe weather warning for damaging winds in places statewide as you have posted above.
