Severe thunderstorms have developed over extreme southwest Nebraska into western Kansas, one of which is tornado warned and exhibiting signs of strong rotation on radar! While the storms that have fired have remained mostly discrete to this point, the expectation is that they will merge into a cluster then eventually an MCS, bringing the threat for an extreme wind event over portions of central Kansas later this evening. Mike Scantlin is currently streaming from southern Kansas, so be sure to check out the LIVE video.
