Title: First disturbance of hurricane season forming off Mexico
Post by: Colin Maitland on 24 June 2009, 12:27:52 PM
Forecasters are expecting tropical storm Andres to brush with Mexico as a full strength Hurricane on Tuesday USA time.

Natalia Parra stated in her article that:
Late Sunday night, Andres became the first named storm of the Eastern Pacific hurricane season, which began May 15 and ends November 30 and is typically busiest between July and September.

The US National Hurricane Centre said Andres was centred about 275km south-southeast of Manzanillo at 8pm Monday (1300 AEST Tuesday), and it had sustained winds near 100km/h, with stronger gusts.

Regarding tropical storm Andres of the gulf of Mexico, Natalia Parra, Associated Press Writer, stated

ACAPULCO, Mexico — The tropical tempest Andres strengthened into the Pacific season's first hurricane Tuesday, flooding homes, toppling trees and killing at least one person as it swiped Mexico's southwestern coast with wind and rain.

Andres packed maximum winds near 75 mph, just over the threshold of hurricane strength, but was expected to weaken over the next day or two, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

you just need time to search through them, but the daylife.com link seems to be the best, you need to type your search and see what they have.
