Title: Steps to join this forum
Post by: Jimmy Deguara on 25 July 2006, 02:37:24 PM
Welcome to the Australian Severe Weather Forum. Please note, joining this forum is absolutely free. Your joining information is kept confidential and as secure as possible. The main aim is to enjoy discussion.

Our new procedure for joining has changed. You will not be able to join via the regular registration.

The new secure procedure is for people to apply for membership via sending an email to [email protected]

In your application, please state the reason why you wish to join, your interest weatherwise, that you are fully aware of the terms and conditions of this website and are willing to participate. We reserve the right to accept or decline applications based on the information or insufficient information supplied herein, or based on past the history of behaviour on this or other discussion forums. We also periodically delete membership based on zero postings so please be aware of this. Once you have been accepted, a membership username and password will be forwarded to your email address. It is your responsibility to make the appropriate changes to the password once you have joined.

The reasoning for the latest membership application procedures are due to ample spam emails now occurring daily.

Once we have responded to your email requested above, we will manually register you and you will receive an email requiring activation.

Step 1: Click on register and complete full names and other important information. Failure to submit full name may delay or even prevent applicants from becoming members on this forum. Membership on this forum requires acceptance and an understanding of the agreement below. Please read it carefully - if you feel you don't agree to these terms and conditions, please discontinue your application. Applicants with an unpleasant past history may be refused membership.

Step 2: Await for an email from us for approval if successful. (Some applicants failing to meet the membership criteria may be required to supply further information).

The following is your registration for membership agreement.

The Australian Severe Weather Forum offers a diverse and opportunistic approach to discussion on severe weather for members of all ages.

First and formost, the most visited area of the forum is the Severe Weather Discussion where the latest information and forecasts on severe weather (severe storms, tornadoes, floods and tropical cyclones) as well as storm chasing reports from the field are discussed in detail with a high level of accuracy. Questions are encouraged given that our dedicated team are there to answer your questions.

For the younger members or those that are educators looking for resources, there is the educational discussion severe weather section. This section encourage students wanting to exchange ideas on weather or climate change or discuss assignment ideas for school. Teachers can also use this section to ask questions and discuss ideas on developing resources for their courses.

This wanting to develop business partnerships or discuss advertising concepts can do so in the private section of the forum.

Occasionally, there are issues with applicants using internet behind secure servers and powerful firewalls. Sometimes a when joining or even posting, an error may occur. Try using the back button and click on one of the links in the forum and you may succeed in moving on. For some, the frame structure causes some concern. If so, try clicking http://www.australiasevereweather.com.au/forum/index.php (http://Problems logging in? Click on this forum link.) link on the left hand bar or simply try logging in at:
