Low-level shear profiles along the warm front should provide for an environment generally more favorable for enhanced tornadic activity, and if the forecasted mid to upper-60s dewpoints and high instability can verify, a dangerous weather situation could ultimately unfold this afternoon into the late evening in MS, AL and Georgia, with long-lived supercells capable of strong tornadoes possible. A tornado watch is currently in effect for central Alabama into western Georgia, where early convection has begun. Residents of Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia are urged to take the time to review severe weather safety (http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/severeweather/tornadosafety.html)plans today, have fresh batteries in their NOAA weather radio and monitor changing conditions. Several chasers will be streaming on our Live (http://chase.tornadovideos.net/pages/full_screen)page today as well!
