Title: Extremely large hailstones and conglomerates

Hi guys,

In a discussion with US storm chasers, it seems that conglomerate characteristics were being attributed to the giant hailstones just from a visual perspective. What do others think - but before you answer, please show some solid reasoning in supporting your observations. Recent hailstones with diameters of the order greater than 6 inches were discovered on the 21st August 2007. This was what prompted some interesting comments about conglomerate characteristics.
