The National Weather Service in Memphis has concluded the damage surveys following the "mini-outbreak" that occurred in the mid-South on July 30. The photo shown at left was taken in Desoto County, Mississippi, where an EF-2 tornado touched down between Olive Branch and Lewisburg. This tornado was estimated at up to a quarter-mile wide at times! A few subdivisions in southeast Oliver Branch took direct hits, but, remarkably, there were no injuries reported.
