Hi Nick,
Here is another media link to the events in Canada:
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20070623.wtornadonew0623/BNStory/National/?page=rss&id=RTGAM.20070623.wtornadonew0623
Although Canada gets quite a few tornadoes, the frequency is irregular. This season is meant to be an awesome season. Perhaps this is a start.

This is the incredible video that Nick Moir mentioned to me earlier this evening:

Bloody awesome - you are mad not to check it out! There was mention that an extremely unstable environment with CAPEs of 7000J/kg was present.

Well I'm in Canada at the moment but in Toronto. Yes, amazing stuff. I was watching that storm on the radar and it sure was showing very nice rotation. Very clear hook echo and v-notch as well. Here's a link to the reflectivity radar loop.

This a day after another very strong storm with a tornado rated as an F4.

Edit: And before anyone decides to discuss further, the new enhanced Fujita scale has not been adopted in Canada yet.

I saw a lot of footage on the news and it's the best footage I think i've seen all year! Those guys from tornado video.net look like they almost got caught in a developing inflow jet! but i'm glad they got that footage as the multiple votex stage is amazing!

Really great footage on the last 55 seconds of that footage you mention from tornadovideos.net - up to three suction vortices! I won't say anything regarding the safety aspect as i converse with these chasers every week so far as to say they do put safety first.
The author of the video told me that the supercell had the most incredible structure he's seen to date - and he's been chasing for a long time in the alley!!! Certainly informative video capture.

Dr Forbes, renowned meteorologist who partnered Dr Fujita explains the tornado footage that Reed took from tornadovideos.net. Interesting info from a man with a great deal of experience and certainly educated me when explaining the suction vortices. If you go to the site mentioned above then there's a link on the right hand side to the Weather Channel video.
