Some nice photos whether it becomes official or not

Nice photographs all right. Whether this is verified or not is not my main issue here: I have sometimes wandered whilst looking at specific clouds scratched my head and wandered "Which cloud category does it belong to?"
Regards,
Jimmy Deguara

Jimmy, you would probably have a better idea than I do about most of them!
Then again, I have no idea who ratifies new cloud types as official descriptions either.
-
Have seen those sorts of clouds a few times over the years though can't recall if I thought about what cloud type they were
-
Hi guys,
They are definitely pretty spectacular cloud structure photos! Good to see these things are still getting the attention they deserve along with being named. It is a wonder they weren't classified earlier on in the piece? I think the digital age has helped with so many knowledgeable people worldwide being able to share and see these great shots.
Looks like a similar formation created by updrafts and downdrafts in a partly mountainous region. I'll have a look through my shots form Lake Burrendong (Wellington NSW) as I think I shots something similar during those few extremely windy days while NE NSW and SE QLD were being flooded.
It'd be good to know just how many cloud types are still not named? Possibly a little hard to know but very interesting none the less :)
Kindest regards,
Shauno

Photo Number 2 i recognise where this photo was taken,Its in a town called Methven in the South Island New Zealand. The cloud formation is commin in this area, its locally known as the "norwest ach" its a rain shadow cloud formed as westerys descend from the southern Alps. This cloud we see maybe 50 times a year.

ah and now i realize to myself why they look scary it is because of what forms them
CHEMTRAILS is the answer believe it or not
-
And this is NOT Undulatus Asperatus then?

I thought chemtrails are basically contrails from aircraft, but if you are a conspiracy theorist they are supposed to be the poisonous gases realeased from aircraft to infect the population with some form of genocide, then the agency are meant to monitor the populace to see how they are affected.
I know there is supposed to be evidence from archived USA data that they did this on a small town approx 40- 50 years ago, but there is a large group around saying that the sky is fall of chemtrails and the govt is trying to kill us.
I not sure if this is what you are referring to Stormboy or if you have some other info, because I am curious.
Cheers
Col.

It does look like an example of it to me Mike.

So is this new classification something that a lot of people have seen over the years and why have they waited so long to name it? The photo I posted just does not seem to fit the smooth, wavy, turbulent images of the original posts showing those wonderful skyscapes.
Am I missing something here?

coltan yes i follow on about chemtrails and i do know that when you see a normal contrail in the sky it dissipates quick where as if you look at a chemtrail like there are some today they start of line like then expand up to 20x their size and that is the powder of poison.
here is a link an introduction http://www.educate-yourself.org/ct/ (http://www.educate-yourself.org/ct/) i is good but search chemtrails on google/youtube sepessially you will get results and Micheal bath if i may i am using some of your images from macleans ridges webcam .
if you or any one else need more info email me at

I think we need a new discussion in the General Discussion area about this if we are going to pursue it. On the other hand if you really believe that jets are sometimes releasing poisins especially over a highly strategic areas like the Northern Rivers I think we have a difference of opinion.
Over many years I have seen contrails. Some disspitate quickly, some dissipate slowly. I doubt if the evil forces are seeding Qantas Avgas with poisonous chemicals.
