Title: Where and when are the best storms?
Post by: cloudfairy on 23 January 2009, 04:21:50 AM
Heja,

I'd like to know where and when severe storms occur....in average of course. Is there a diagram that shows the spacial distribution of severe thunderstorms each month for Australia?
My concern is to find out if and where thunderstorms occur in autumn and winter.

Before I leave Australia I'd like to see more of it than Darwin. It would be great if I could connect that with some thunderstorms. I know there is no garantee (as I experience in Darwin atm  >:(  :'(), but as it is not just about the storms....it won't be a drama. But I'd like to get another chance for storms in May or early June.

Would be great if anyone could help me.

Given the severe storms of the eastern side of things perhaps members could shed some experienced light on Renate's request.  I was not able to help her, but there seems to be a corridor of sorts in NSW which attracts a lot of supercell activity?  I know that you guys obviously have all these years chasing under your belt in lots of areas which are more prone to severe weather.
