Title: Conjunction of the Moon, Venus and Jupiter. 1st December 2008.
Post by: Shaun Galman on 04 December 2008, 10:19:08 AM
Hi guys,
I thought I would open up a thread for any photographs of the recent conjunction to be posted.
I have never really done any astro work with the Canon as yet so these were purely experimental shots. I was lucky enough to have 3 jets fly past as I was shooting. I captured a few of the planes but I couldn't get a long enough exposure to get it crossing the moon without blowing the photo out lol.

I used the 75-300mm lens set at 300mm, f/8, ISO1600 for most of the photos and was fortunate enough to have 3 of Jupiter's visible moons show up!
Kindest regards,
Shauno

Unfortunately it was cloudy here so didn't get a look at it, though had tried some photos the night before with them in different positions (without too muck luck - will have to look at your exposure settings).

I do like this shot over LA though.
