Unforecasted and unusual rain event VIC 10 April 2009   on: 10 April 2009, 01:59:37 PM

Just a little note - and unforecasted rain even has recently begin in eastern Melbourne.
Some lingering storms have drifted from the NSW trough into NE Vic and E Melb metro areas.
About 3mm fell in Croydon at about 10.30am this morning, and currently (12:57pm) it is raining in a line from Bundoora to Mt Dandenong - about 5mm is falling close to home. Also some thunderstorms have been sighted in the Wangaratta area, with about 2mm falling in last 10 mins.

Is it normal for forecasters to get it wrong, and neglect little rain events like this?

Storm chasing is dangerous. Do not storm chase unless you have consulted or chased with others who have proven extensive chase experience.
