a storm developed out of no ware today or i mean this evening and it looks to hit Micheal baths place head on

Warwick Qld.


We are still getting humid days and lots of convection. Not much of the coastal rain made it's way here but we are still getting conditions the same as a month ago.

I took these today. Nothing impressive with the storms but thought you might like to see Warwick sundogs and a photo of the mist I am not 100% sure about what is happening there but it was taken a few hours before the sundogs.

There was thunder and lightning nearby from about 6 to 7.30pm last night though the rain never got heavy here. I received a report of 125mm from a Goonellabah location (8ks to my WSW)

Some heavy falls this morning with Myocum (west of Byron Bay) receiving over 100mm between 2 and 5am. Billinudgel is in minor flood again as a result.

Hi guys, (It's great to be back online again!)

What an impressive rain system that was! I was glued to the news each evening watching the flood reports etc.

I have a storm update from the Snowy Valley area. Last Friday night, (3rd April) I was in a monster storm at Tumut! The lightning was absolutely smashing into the Tumut plains region and it was slightly worrying as we had 70foot high trees towering above where we were staying! Definitely large lightning magnets. The rain was torrential in places, giving the Tumbarumba/Batlow area 120mm of much needed rainfall. The structure as the storms were pushing more Westerly was astounding! I cant confirm due to a partially obstructed view but there was what appeared to be a large shelf cloud on the northern side of the main updrafts. I was waiting inside the KFC at Tumut while the storm abated and didn't have my camera at hand? There were some spectacular crawlers on the rear of the two main rain cores later on as there was a nice split taking place to the south creating two large, dark and very ominous rain cores.

Really nice to see a high precip. storm in the mountains for a change though the view was somewhat obstructed.
On my way back to the Ridge for a few days then we'll be off traveling once again.

Some pics attached which show flooding at the main waterfall at Dorrigo, and also a normally small waterway on the Waterfall Way east of Dorrigo during the flash flooding on 31 March.

Pity we do not know the source of the images. Those images display an incredible and obviously terrifying scene having been on the road a couple of times! The waterfall is usually a trickle relative to what we see in those images! Wow factor = 10!

Stopped at that waterfall and drove down that road in December. Didn't look quite like that, pretty impressive. No wonder Bellingen goes under.

We were there just a few weeks ago - these are some amazing pics!

It appears the photos were taken by Bellingen Council workers.  Here's some pics of the clean-up.
